Description:

Bi4Ge3O12 refers to a scintillation crystal made from Bismuth Oxide and Germanium Oxide. BGO is a widely used inorganic scintillator material known for its several desirable characteristics in radiation detection and medical imaging, such as high density, high effective atomic number and high stopping power for gamma rays.

BGO crystal has also been proven to be reliable in Oil&Gas wireline logging and the mineral wireline logging when coupled with light sensors, such as photo-multiplier tubes(PMTs), where the NaI(TI) crystal has been universally used. The lacked of spectrum resolution could be compensated by its high photon fraction for high energy gamma ray naturally occurring from Uranium and Thorium.

Specification:

  BGO Unit

Wavelength of Emission Peak 480 nm
Hardness 5 Moh
Light Output 8500 ph/MeV
Decay time 317 ns

Beside the BGO scintillator crystal, we have the capability to assemble photo-multiplier tubes(PMTs) on the crystal with standard 14 pins, also the whole  detector included a voltage divider, pre-amplifier and  4 pin connector is workable, which has been widely used in the nuclear radiometric detection.
